The
Solar Blind UV technology (SBUV) developed by Ofil,
is appropriate for remote sensing tasks (up to several kilometers)
as required for missions like aircraft
protection, sniper
/ rifle shoot detection , police, as well as for homeland security purposes.
As
most UV radiation emitters are man made with special characteristic
UV phenomenon signatures, the detection of UV emission from exhaust
plumes of 'shoulder
launched surface to air missiles' (SLSAM), fire
and flame or any other UV emitting source including hydrogen
flames will occur at a very low false alarm rate. SBUV
signal detection of UV emitting sources is carried out at all lightning
conditions including full daylight, without interference from the
solar radiation and with very high signal to background ratio.
